RELIEF BOOK PROMO PACKAGE

Much Ado About Books and Voice America will be donating $1,000.00 (or more, depending on how many authors participate) to hurricane relief to help the authors living in the areas hit by hurricane Katrina who are in immediate need of food, clothing, gas and basic necessities. We'll be purchasing gift cards that can be used to purchase these items, as well as phone cards so people can stay in contact with relatives and friends during this crisis.
The Edna Sampson Benevolent Fund for Writers (founded by author Vicki Hinze and named after her mother) and RWA chapters in states hit by the hurricane are helping us find authors in need and distribute the gift cards, based on need.

the remaining $1,000.00 goes directly to hurricane

Split amongst 15 authors, the cost is just $147.00 ea
Authors must register with a $50.00 deposit, with the balance due ($97.00) in 2 weeks (If we don't have at least 15 authors register, then all down payments will be refunded).

If 16 or more authors register (up to 29 authors total), all additional proceeds will be donated to hurricane relief.
For
every 15 additional authors that register,
we'll add 3 months to the group sponsorship (in
other words, 30 authors registering would give the
group 2 commercials aired for 26 weeks, plus 9
months of promotion on the show site, + 6 months
promo in the TRC newsletter, + 40 minutes on-air
allotment, etc), and add an additional $1,000.00
to the hurricane relief fund.

We can raise up to $2,400.00 with individual advertisers (6 ad spots available for this fundraiser, 2 for each quarter between Dec 12, 2005 and Sept 4, 2006)
